Troy Township Joins the Fight to Turn Illinois Red.

The Troy Township Republican Committee has become the latest local Republican organization to join Surus Illinois' Battle Program, bringing the total number of organizations on the state's one of a kind program to thirty one. Troy Township, located in the red-trending Will County is the first Will County township in which the Battle Program will be implemented.

Troy Township is situated within increasingly competitive districts in the U.S. Congress the Illinois General Assembly - all currently held by Democrats. From Lauren Underwood in Illinois’ 14th Congressional District to Harry Benton in Illinois State House District 97, flipping seats and putting radical Democrats out of a job runs through Troy Township.

Bryan Kopman, Chairman of the Troy Township Republicans, highlighted his organization’s readiness to get started on the Battle Program; “Our Precinct Committeemen are energized and ready to embrace the work of getting to know our unreliable Republican neighbors, improve Republican voter turnout, and run up the score in Troy Township.” said Kopman. “Our team is proud to join our new partners at Surus Illinois and do the work to Turn Illinois Red!”

With the addition of Troy Township, organizations participating on the Battle Program can now reach over 265,374 Unreliable Republican voters – voters who share our values but do not vote in every election.

CJ Gallo, State Director of Surus Illinois, welcomed Troy Township to the fight to turn Illinois red: "Troy Township may be small, but it has the potential to improve margins and help deliver victories in several targeted pickup opportunities for Republicans.” said Gallo. "The Surus Illinois team looks forward to getting dedicated Troy Township volunteers focused on building a relationship with the nearly 4,000 unreliable Republican voters there who are key to turning Illinois Red.”

The Battle Program aims to revitalize civic engagement by reshaping local Republican Party organizations into vibrant, effective community anchors that attract volunteers, earn the trust of donors, and inspire volunteerism. Surus Illinois believes that with the right tools, guidance, and resources, these local organizations can establish the vital, always-on infrastructure needed to realize the mission of Turning Illinois Red.
