Account Manager - Central Illinois

At Surus Illinois we empower people with the tools to become leaders. We work with local Republican organizations, issues advocacy groups, political candidates, nonprofit organizations, community organizers, and anyone trying to make change in the world and bring about conservative solutions. Our customers come in all shapes and sizes, from small-town organizers trying to win their school board elections, to political parties, or large advocacy organizations.

We are an organizational development company. Every day, we bring a methodology, proprietary systems, and enriched data to organizations across Illinois to rebuild a Republican machine.

We are seeking Account Managers to work with our Republican county and township client partners who are participating in the Surus "Battle Program." Successful candidates will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with our client organizations, driving their successful participation in our multi-competency Battle Program, and helping them ultimately maximize voter turnout in future elections.

Applicants in the Illinois area are preferred for this role, but strong applicants currently living elsewhere will also be considered. He or she must be a self-starter, willing to bring technological and political-organizing solutions to our politically conservative clients. The territory the person in this role will be in charge of will include parts of Central Illinois.

Responsibilities:

  • Build strong relationships with our clients’ leadership teams and key stakeholders

  • Drive successful participation in the Battle Program, ensuring clients meet their goals and Objectives

  • Conduct weekly meetings with client leadership reviewing progress, surfacing any issues, and providing updates

  • Develop a deep understanding of an organization's needs, goals, and objectives

  • Identify specific volunteer roles within these organization that need to be filled, and work to recruit and train volunteers to fill those roles

  • Help the organizations grow in the four key competencies of fundraising, communications, community engagement, and election operations

  • Use the Surus Operating System to power the Battle Program and provide regular reporting on progress and outcomes

  • Learn how to use the Nationbuilder CRM, Basecamp project management tool, Google suite, and integrated voter contact tools and reporting systems

  • Ensure that all work is completed to a high standard, in line with the Surus Illinois values and principles

Requirements:

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong organizational and project management skills

  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders

  • Ability to learn and use new software and tools quickly

  • Passion for politics and conservative values

  • 1 – 2 years of professional experience

  • We’d love some political experience but it’s not necessary

  • Experience with fundraising, communications, community engagement, or election operations is appreciated
